Basic Services

Basic services generally include fillings, restoration, extractions, root canal therapy (Endodontics) and treatment of gum disease (Periodontics).  Most dental insurance plans will have a six-month waiting period before Basic Services are covered.

Major Services

Dental insurance plans usually pay at 50% after a small deductible. Examples of coverage include crowns, inlays, onlays, bridges, and full or partial dentures.  Some dental plans also cover dental implants under Major Services.  Most dental insurance plans will have a six or 12-month waiting period before Major Services are covered.

Optional:

Orthodontics

Usually paid at 50%, child-only or adult and child coverage are available. This covers the treatment of crooked teeth. Most dental insurance plans will have a 24-month waiting period before Orthodontics will be covered.
